Who We Are

Texas Massage Academy owners with massage therapy schools in Abilene and Brownwood Texas

Texas Massage Academy came about due to the lack of skilled therapists in the area, when we were looking to staff our spa.

Brandon and his wife, Kathleen (also known as "Fancy"), established a spa in Brownwood, Texas in 2007. Over the years, our spa has gained popularity, leading to a high demand for our services. To cater to our growing clientele, we decided to open a massage school, providing professional massage training to aspiring therapists. Today, our massage school continues to thrive, with multiple locations in Texas and many more to come, offering top-quality education to students from all backgrounds.

Kathleen Mazy

Co-Owner - Dean of Admissions

Kathleen attended the University of Texas in Austin after high school and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After marrying Brandon, they decided to embark on a new journey together to help others. After meeting the standard state requirements with honors, Kathleen decided to extend her education by taking additional course work in Trigger Point Therapy and Spa Services. This in turn made her a marketable asset when opening her day spa, Fancy’s Day Spa, in 2007. Soon after opening, Brandon and Kathleen were inundated with clients, even having clients drive from all over Texas just to see them. Their availability became very limited, as many clients booked recurring appointments filling up their schedule months in advance. They realized the need for additional quality Massage Therapists in the area which led to the creation of Texas Massage Academy.

Brandon Mazy

Brandon spent many years in the corporate environment after graduating from the Art Institute of Dallas. While in the media field, Brandon gained extensive knowledge of marketing, graphics, programming and computer-based training. This will aid in the visual and interactive elements within the classroom training to create a more engaging learning environment. While attending massage school, Brandon found his niche in problem solving and looking at massage not just from a therapeutic standpoint, but from a wellness standpoint as well, focusing on the pre-assessment. Daily, Brandon not only works with severe pain management cases, but also educates his clients about self-awareness. Brandon teaches Massage Technique, Health & Hygiene, Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology Hydrotherapy, Business Practices & Professional Ethics, and Pathology. My name is Brittney Galaviz and I'm 37 years old from Brownwood Tx. I'm married to a wonderful man and have 3 beautiful kids! I started working at Texas Massage Academy as a front desk and back of house employee little did I know that I'd also stumbled upon my passion. I fell in love with everything about massage and decided to enroll in school. I graduated in 2022 and since then have become licensed. Texas Massage Academy was so good to me that I couldn't imagine working for anyone else so I've been massaging full time while waiting to begin my instrusctor training at our brownwood campus! It's truly the best of both worlds because I still get to massage and help those in need as well as be a part of the team that builds future massage therapist.

Chad also helps drive creative juices and brainpower within our eLearning division, TexasCEU   with his marketing and out of the box thinking for therapists all over Texas.   Chad's roles are always growing and changing, so stay tuned for what he's up to next!!!!

Mariah S.

Integrated Massage Therapist and future Instructor of Lab and CPR -

Born and raised in Abilene, Tx, following a long line of nurses, I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field, I just never knew what field would be best for me. I jumped at the opportunity to attend school and that’s when I began my journey as a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2020. I attended the Brownwood campus, at Texas Massage Academy, where I discovered a newfound love of anatomy; continuing my education at Parker University in pursuit of a Bachelors in Anatomy, as well as a doctorate in Chiropractic. My passion has always been to help people and I enjoy using my knowledge and skill to reach those specific needs. I specialize in relaxation, deep tissue, trigger point, and medical massage. Book with me today and get the massage you knead!!!
